The 2020 First Nations Cup will be held in Calgary Thursday July 16th-19th 2020.
Location at the new Seven Chiefs Sportsplex, 9911 Chiila Blvd Tsuu tina Nation, Alberta
Sixteen elite teams will be screened, accepted and split into 4 groups.
· Teams will get to play 6 round robin games consisting of two 25 minute stop-time periods. Only the winner of each group will advance to Sunday.
· The quarter finals, semifinals and finals will be played Sunday. These games will be one 25 minute stop time period.
· Teams will consist of players born 2000-2003. At the discretion of the showcase committee each team can ice 4 players with birth dates in 2004.
· Teams will be accepted once a minimum of 13 skaters have paid in full. Teams must carry 2 goalies.
Individual player registrations will be accepted.
The First Nations Cup will give players from Canada, USA and Europe the opportunity to compete against highly skilled competition.
It will be my goal for this showcase to offer choices that may not have been present prior to the weekend. I will be reaching out to midget AAA, CIS, AJHL teams, Junior A, NCAA schools and Major Junior A organizations that will be interested in scouting this event.
Showcase fee is $400 cdn per player.
Hotel costs are extra $139.00 per night plus taxes breakfast is included.
The Grey Eagle Casino and Resort has stepped up to become the preferred hotel for the event.
