BP Hockey announces a new program dedicated to the goalie development
Glen Cherrett has been teaching kids for over 20 years now. When he was young he won gold in the Canada winter games with team Ontario. Soon was drafted by the OHL Jr A Cornwall Royals then was traded back to the Belleville Bulls. Glen finished his playing career with the Orillia Travelways Jr A Club where the team won the Ontario Champions.
He's currently working with goalies of all ages, from young to junior A so this movement is just a natural growth for us both. I believe in his coaching style, the way he treats the kids and what he's able to accomplish across the different age groups.
First and Foremost, Glen and I are friends. We've worked together at the annual BP Hockey summer camp in Belleville. Now we've decided to move forward with this development partnership with the best interest of the kids in mind.
We will strategically guide you through the season, month to month, with game attendance, video analysis and team or semi private practices. This program can be designed to the intensity that our goalies want to commit to.
Our coaches will track and record(video) of all shots directed on your net, specifically identifying areas of strength and weakness. As we analyze your game play, we then will recommend and make calculated adjustments for you to use through out your season.
Team practices are designed to follow your current coaches game plans. Attending your own team or organizational practices will allow us to reinforce any adjustments and corrections analyzed from our game evaluation.
The game evaluations are an opportunity for goalies to have their game analyzed in detail by a member of the coaching staff. We will track and analyze a goalie's performance with real game data and video. The information gathered is then taken and put into a report that will be handed back to the player. Included in the report will be: Shot tracking, Goal location, Positioning and Comments with video links.
All of this information is extremely helpful in determining goalie strengths and weaknesses and serves as a guide for improvement and performance development throughout the season.
